Volunteering

Multisport events like Triathlon must be among the friendliest and most sociable sports around. When you are Volunteering, you will be surrounded by like-minded individuals of all ages and gender. People like to be involved with well-run, popular events and we like to think that everyone who volunteers and helps at our events, thoroughly enjoys the experience. You will be well looked after and surrounded by people who are enthusiastic about the sport and genuinely want to help.

Volunteers are our "engine room" and we do value the support that each person provides... and so do the competitors. From the first finisher to the last, they all really appreciate the direction and vocal support you give during the events. It is a real boost!

The New season will be with us before we know it and we are already focused on making our two open water triathlons just as enjoyable and successful as previous years!

Our triathlon events attract competitors from all over the country and abroad. We have two great venues at Ladyburn Lake, Druridge Bay Country Park and the QE2 Lake next to Woodhorn Museum. As a volunteer you’ll be hard pressed to find any better events to help at.

If you are not participating and you think you would like to get involved with any of these events, can you please let us know and we can then talk to you about what Volunteering entails.

What Can You Expect?

You will have a great time and you will be well looked after before and throughout the event.

There are a variety of volunteer roles available. You’ll be given instructions and advice so you know exactly what to do and there'll always be a senior marshal you can approach with any questions or concerns.

We will be following the same format as previous seasons, so as a Volunteer you will receive a free event shirt, you’ll be given a token for food and a drink and you'll be given the option of a "completely free entry" into another of our event/s of your choice. That would apply to all the events you help with and would transfer to the following season if need be.

You’ll be given access to electronic event information prior to the day but when the day arrives we just ask that you report to your senior marshal at the appointed time and if you can, help set up and take down the course signage and kit. More hands make light work!
